Shelley Bechtel R.N.Manager

Shelley Bechtel, RN

Shelley Bechtel joined our Fairfield Community, bringing with her 16 years of Cardiac/Intensive care nursing. Shelley spent the last 8 years at the University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where she received certification in Neuro/Science Nursing.

Shelley's compassion, exemplary assessment skills and desire to deliver quality care and wellness make her a tremendous addition to SunnyBrook.

Shelley resides in Fairfield with her husband Chris and two daughters: Haley, 15 and Karly, 13. She keeps busy following her daughters' scholastic and athletic activities.

Health Care Coordinator

Jamie Scherer

Jamie Scherer joins our SunnyBrook family with over 15 years experience in the health care field.  She began her career as a phlebotomist at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.  Following her graduation from nursing school, she worked in acute care at Jefferson County Hospital.  Before coming to SunnyBrook, she was employed at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City in orthopedic and urology specialties.  Jamie is dedicated to patient care and feels that she is compassionate in the work she does.  She enjoys her work and looks forward to caring for the needs of SunnyBrook residents.

A native of Batavia, Jamie and her husband J.R. have a daughter Jessica who attends IHCC and a son Jake who is a senior at Cardinal High School.  She’s looking forward to her son’s college athletic career in either football or baseball.  In her spare time, Jamie enjoys being outdoors at any sporting event.

Sue Ann Hock Life Enrichment Coordinator

Sue Ann Hock

Sue Ann Hock has lived in Fairfield all of her adult life. In 1974, Sue Ann began employment at the Jefferson County Hospital as a Physical Therapy Technician.

After 30 years in that position, she had an opportunity to be Activities Director here at Sunnybrook when it opened in 2003. Sue Ann loves her job and it shows. Sue Ann's 30 years experience in providing physical therapy to seniors has given her incredible insight into the dynamics facing the aging population from both a physical and emotional perspective.

In her spare time Sue Ann loves to spend time with her family and friends, go to garage sales and, of course, stay up late at night to bake and peruse cookbooks for new and fun recipes.

Culinary Coordinator

Stephanie Watson

Stephanie began her career in health care as a CNA upon completion of training and graduation from Fairfield High School. She came to SunnyBrook of Fairfield as a cook in 2007, and was recently promoted to Kitchen Manager.  Stephanie says that one of the things she loves most about her job is her association with all the residents at SunnyBrook.

Stephanie and her husband Jerry are the parents of two children: Tabitha, 19 and Tyler, 17.  She is the proud owner of two horses, and enjoys spending her leisure time camping and participating in any outdoor activity.
